COSMOS/M The Ultimate Testing Ground
For Your Ideas
If you are finding it increasingly difficult to design
and analyze parts and structures subjected to complex dynamic environments,
then you might want to take a closer look at ASTAR, the COSMOS/M advanced
dynamics analysis module. When added to the Basic System, ASTAR enables
you to subject your designs to realistic operating environments.
Modeling Dynamic Problems
You will find ASTAR as one of the most
flexible programs available for solving advanced dynamic problems. It has
the capability of generating response spectra for time history loading
thereby allowing you to move easily between working in the time and frequency
domains. And ASTAR's multi-base motion allows modeling of a structure with
non-uniform support excitation. You can even exclude the effects of free
body motion or insignificant mode shapes with its automatic shift calculations.
Dynamic Analyses
Once your model is prepared for analysis,
ASTAR helps you analyze problems through a variety of methods -- modal
time history, response spectra, random vibration and frequency response
analyses.
ASTAR's modal time history capability, helps you to investigate the response
of a complex structure to a wide range of excitations -- even if the system
includes gaps, friction and dampers. It can also calculate the response
of structures subjected to random or non-deterministic excitations, such
as ocean surface turbulence, earthquake or ground motion.
And since it is fully integrated into COSMOS/M you can take advantage of
GEOSTAR, it's graphics driven pre- and postprocessor for model creation
and results display.
