Flowplus helps you address critical design problems involving turbulent fluid flow and heat transfer by simulating complex real-world internal and external fluid motion.


Modeling Turbulent Flow

FLOWPLUS models transonic, supersonic, and subsonic compressible and incompressible gases and liquids through a wide range of Reynolds numbers to ensure that you obtain true-to-life results. You'll find it easy to factor forced, natural, mixed, and radiative heat transfer effects into the analysis.

A number of recent enhancements, including non-Newtonian power law model for viscosity, rotating coordinate frame, conjugate heat transfer, distributed resistance/porous media capability and radiating film coefficients, make FLOWPLUS even more flexible.


Analyzing Turbulent Flow

FLOWPLUS gives you three turbulence models -- a simple but robust constant eddy viscosity model, the traditional robust K-epsilon model, and a state-of-the-art RNG model -- so that you can take advantage of the most accurate modeling technique for your needs. The availability of these models, together with a powerful turbulence wall model and the Automatic Turbulent Start Up (ATSU) algorithm, make it simple to address a wide range of highly nonlinear, geometrically complex turbulent flow problems with little or no intervention. These sturdy numerical algorithms, combined with data structures and iterative matrix solvers optimized for use in FLOWPLUS, give you efficient and productive solutions for difficult fluid flow and heat transfer analyses.

Once you've completed your analysis, FLOWPLUS helps you understand the behavior of your designs better by providing extensive graphic output displays to show the complex velocity, pressure, and temperature distributions of your fluid model.

You can use FLOWPLUS with the Basic System, or as a stand-alone system with GEOSTAR, COSMOS/M's fast, graphics-driven pre- and postprocessor. GEOSTAR makes it easy to model complex problems with on-line help, pull-down menus, icons, and automatic meshing techniques. Its new motif-based interface for workstations and Windows NT platforms makes GEOSTAR easier than ever to use.
